Australian public data
Funny Haha Technologies is an applied AI consultancy in Melbourne. We publish free Model Context Protocol (MCP) tools
at https://mcp.funnyhaha.ai/mcp over cleaned Australian public datasets, so your AI assistant can look up tables,
inspect column definitions and run read-only SQL queries across them.
How passes work
Signing in grants your MCP client a 14-day pass (public:read).
- Consistent answers across a session Every tool call made with your pass reads the dataset releases that were current when you signed in. While your pass is active, table schemas and row counts stay fixed even as we publish new releases in the background.
- Picking up newer releases When your pass expires after 14 days, or whenever you sign in again, your new pass picks up the latest release of every dataset.
Available datasets
Each dataset is attached under its short alias in DuckDB, so queries can join across datasets on shared identifiers
such as abn, anzsic_division_code, occupation_code, sa2_code, lga_2025_code and postcode.

publicdata.query | Runs a read-only DuckDB SELECT or WITH query across the datasets (up to 1,000 rows). |
multipass.status | Reports when your current pass was issued, when it expires and which scopes it grants. |
Licensing and terms
All datasets are republished from Commonwealth and State open data sources under Creative Commons Attribution licences
(CC-BY-4.0 and CC-BY-3.0-AU), except au/gnaf, which is published under the Open G-NAF End User Licence Agreement
and must not be used to address mail unless each address is independently verified as able to receive mail.
Every dataset catalog includes a meta_datasets table recording the upstream source URLs, SHA-256 digests, licence
identifiers and required attribution statements for that release. See Licensing and attribution
